About 5 million people of Indian origin live in the United States, including more than two million Indian passport holders. Many have parents in India whom they see once a year or less. A cake and flowers at the door on the right day is a way to be present.

How it works from the US

1. Message Alina on WhatsApp with what you want to send, the full address with area and pin code, and the date.
2. She confirms with a local vendor in Mumbai or Delhi and shows you the total in US dollars.
3. You pay through a secure link in the same chat. No new app, no account to set up.
4. The vendor delivers and sends a photo. For deliveries, your payment is held until that photo is confirmed.

What is different about sending from the US

• Time difference. From the east coast India is 9.5 hours ahead in summer and 10.5 in winter. From the west coast it is 12.5 to 13.5 hours ahead. Plan the order for the day before, not the same evening.
• Currency. You see and pay the total in US dollars.
• Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. The US and India both mark them on the second Sunday of May and the third Sunday of June, so one reminder covers both countries.
• Diwali and Raksha Bandhan. Vendors in India fill their calendars early. Message at least a week ahead.

What to include in your first message

• What you want to send, for example “a half-kilo chocolate cake and a small bouquet”

Your first request is on us. After that, a membership is a single payment of A$10 for six months or A$15 for twelve, with no recurring charge, shown in US dollars at checkout. The gift and delivery are paid for separately, at the vendor’s price.

No. Only you message Alina. Your family receives a normal delivery at their door.
